Daily care of your electric guitar is crucial to maintaining its excellent performance and increasing its lifespan. Here are simple and effective steps to take care of it:
Wipe the strings: After you’ve finished playing, use a soft, clean cloth (such as a microfiber cloth) to wipe the strings. This removes oils, sweat, and dirt that accumulate on them from your fingers, preventing rust and prolonging the life of the strings.
Wipe the body of the guitar: Wipe the entire body of the guitar with the same cloth to remove fingerprints, sweat, and dust.
If you won’t be using your guitar for an extended period (a day or more), it’s a good idea to loosen the strings slightly. You don’t need to loosen them completely, just a turn or two of the tuning pegs per string. This reduces stress on the neck and prevents it from bending over time.
In a bag: Always store your guitar in its gig bag or hard case after use. This protects it from shocks, dust, and sudden changes in temperature and humidity.
Avoid humidity and heat: Don’t leave the guitar in places exposed to extreme temperatures (such as a car in the summer) or high humidity, as this can damage the wood and electronics.

Fretboard Cleaning: Every few weeks or a month, use a fingerboard cleaner (fretboard oil) to moisturize the wood and prevent cracking.
String Change: Change your strings regularly. There’s no hard and fast rule, but in general, if you play a lot, replace them every month or two. New strings sound better and make playing easier.
